Violent crime rates particularly violent crimes committed with a gun are down and continue trending down. Crime committed with an "assault weapon" are less than 10% of those crimes. So what exactly are we "witnessing"? Because it looks to me like a bunch of reactionaries standing on the corpses of 20 children to push an agenda they had shelved for just the right disaster.
