While I don't want Alex, there is a large gap between him and Cassel. First, Smith has understanding of WCO, Coryell, and Martz (which is a hybrid) principles. Additionally, for all of the faults the Saints defense had with Williams, they were aggressive, blitz happy, and provided pressure from their nickel corners, safeties (Roman Harper). While I acknowledge that Smith played poorly, especially on 3rd down against the Giants, there is no way that A)Cassel performs as Smith did against the Saints and B)Made the few solid throws Smith made in the NFCCG.
