Your analogy just simply doesn't work. To use your analogy, while I can certainly ignore the class idiot, the class idiot is preventing any learning from taking place. He's hijacking the classroom and being loud enough that you cant actually get anything done.
It's not that people can't ignore him, it's that you can't have a football discussion without him bombarding the thread with ridiculousness. And it's not just that he's an idiot. He's a stubborn idiot. He posts stuff over and over and over.
For the record, nobody tattled on anybody.
