I risk all cred, perhaps even my man card, but I have to honest.
Ate at Texas Roadhouse a while back and had a coupon for a free appetizer. I went with the ribs and took them home.
I can honestly say it was a transcendent experience. The 'burnt' portions were crispy like when you render the fat in good bacon. The meat was literally falling off the bone, and even the bones were so slow smoked that I could crack them in half with my teeth and scoop out the marrow. It didn't have any particular sauce/rub flavorings, just intense INTENSE smokiness, with a perfect mix of crispy and tender throughout the meat, and did I mention MARROW?
It was one experience from one restaurant in a chain, but it was soooo much better than I had any expectations.
