Chiefs' Late-Round Picks

This whole shocking news about Jordan Black made me look. Strangely, the Chiefs have a long recent history of late-round picks hanging on for long careers. We have one in pretty much every draft since the 7-round draft was implemented. That has to be unusual. Any of you fans of other teams want to throw up your own picks to see if it's common or not?

2012 - Whatever. Most picks last a year.

2011 - Whatever. Many picks last two years.

2010 - Kendrick Lewis and (I think) Cameron Sheffield are still around from the 5th round.

2009 - Jake O'Connell and Ryan Succop are still around from the 7th round.

2008 - Brandon Carr and (I think) Barry Richardson are still around from the 5th and 6th round.

2007 - Justin Medlock is back in the league from the 5th round.

2006 - Jarrad Page had a pretty long career for a 7th rounder, even if he may be gone now.

2005 - Will Svitek is still around from the 6th round.

2004 - Jared Allen has done pretty well for a late 4th round pick.

2003 - Jordan Black is somehow still in the league as a 5th round pick.

2002 - Scott Fujita was a fifth-round pick.

2001 - Terdell Sands played longer than a 7th rounder would expect, and Derrick Blaylock played a few years as a 4th rounder, and once scored four touchdowns in a game. I think he was all-City.

2000 - We had a fifth rounder named Dante Hall.

1999 - Whiff here, but we only had two picks after the 3rd round.

1998 - Eric Warfield had a long career as a 7th rounder, and Derrick Ransom played for a few years as a 6th rounder.

1997 - Whiff.

1996 - Joe Horn was a 5th round pick.

1995 - Tom Barndt played a few years as a 5th rounder.

1994 - Bracey Walker had a long career as a 4th rounder.

1993 - Danan Hughes was a good 5th round investment.

Before this, we had 12-round drafts.
