Explain the system, Joe. I'd like to try to convince one of my leagues to get away from the H2H format. I'd like to eliminate some/most of the luck factor and reward guys for building a solid team.
Every year, we have a team or two that scores a ton, gets unlucky every week, and misses the playoffs. That's retarded, IMO. This year, the team that scored the 2nd most out of 12 teams missed the playoffs. That's ridiculous.
I've thought about two possible solutions.
Giving the 6 highest scoring teams each week a "win" and giving the 6 lowest scoring teams a "loss" - then using a team's "record" to determine playoff seeding with points scored as a tiebreaker.
Or, doing a roto-hybrid league where the highest scoring team each week is awarded 12 points, the 2nd highest scoring team 11 points, etc. Then the top 6 in these "points" go to the playoffs.
In each scenario, you'd have the option of sticking with this scoring in the playoffs, or returning to a H2H format specifically for the playoffs.
