I rarely mention this kind of thing, but I actually know people who knew him and, according to them, they never considered him to be succumbing to the pressure and certainly never saw him as potentially suicidal. Outwardly, he appeared perfectly functional.
However, the article you posted supports my point of view, in a way. It mentions the large number of people who were depending on Seau. He left them in the lurch. I'm willing to blame "head trauma" to an extent. But I don't know if head trauma prevents a person from considering what their suicide will do to those he leaves behind. I remain pretty troubled by the entire episode, to be honest.
