Does anyone know if induction cooktops are going to be introduced this season?
They're the cooktops that pour energy into certain types of cookware instead of heating an element. That way you're just heating the food itself. You pull the pan away and the unit is cool to the touch. You spill something from the pan and it doesn't cook onto the cooking surface. Lots of safety and convenience pluses to it.
Up until now, there are big $2K full cooktops, portables for professional chefs, and units of unknown capabilities you have to mail order.
