It is not Hovind use of brain that is under attack, he is a clever entertainer, it is the lack of any evidence presently of a lot of what he describes. Sure we have ice circling planets but not as a sphere, but as pieces in a very flat ring. High oxygen does speed up lots of biological systems. But that means burning the candle faster so death comes quicker not longer. Oxygen in high doses means easy fires in the environment and free radicals in one's body. It just doesn't make sense with how the earth operates presently.
Even a superstitious man has certain inalienable rights. He has a right to harbor and indulge his imbecilities as long as he pleases. . . He has a right to argue for them as eloquently as he can, in season and out of season. He has a right to teach them to his children. But certainly he has no right to be protected against the free criticism of those who do not hold them. He has no right to demand that they be treated as sacred. He has no right to preach them without challenge." -H.L. Mencken
