I was bugged on him on my third attempt and decided to take a break.

My bug was that I got trapped in one of his cages, and then my turret hit him while I was in there to trigger the next part. When I arrived in the other area, I was still frozen and other me quickly beat me down with me never being able to move. I guess you can't break out until Diablo does it, and if it moves to the next phase before he does that you are hosed.
