Real players. It works like this (more or less):
As a one-time event, you build your initial team via a veteran draft.
Each year, you then also do a rookie and free agent draft as the real NFL is in its post-draft malaise and through training camp.
You then enjoy the NFL season as normal. Players' performances during the season feed into our mathematical models. You can make trades and stuff during this time frame too if you want.
After the season ends, your Sandbox season begins, and your players' performances are modeled based on how they performed the previous season. The models are based on databases of each player's individual performance that go beyond statistics, which enables us to include the effects of the full roster and all positions.
