I can't think of any Gays portrayed in a DRAMA. I'm also limiting it to males because lesbianism has always been the lesser of the two evils to most people. The only show I've seen that's addressed male-on-male action or even the concept inside a drama was the British show skins.
They're in comedies all the time. Yet, as you point out here, there's never physical affection.

Oz had some of the most complex and realistic homosexual relationships in the history of TV.
The Wire, of course, had Omar and his boyfriends.
But I can't think of any U.S. network dramas that give us realistic gay men.
