Well, the discussion thread on the official XBox forums is gathering steam. This problem appears to be growing faster than anything else at this point. Some speculation is that changes in the Winter dashboard update (which added several new video features) increased demand on the GPU, leading to more heat. The GPU's don't come with adequate heat-sinking in the first place, which is leading to the failure.
