Yes, but that is not it's main appeal. Fees are simply to high for it to be a viable replacement currency under the current format. That doesn't stop people from using it though. Apparently the Lightning network was going to do something about that, but I haven't followed up on reading up on it.
Overstock used to use it at least 3.5 years ago, they maybe still do. CheapAir.com I know uses bitcoin. It would be nice someday you can go to Target, buy stuff, then the register gives you an option to pay with bitcoin. Now that would be the day.
I about bought solar panels for my house a few years ago with Bitcoin. I asked if they would accept it as payment, they talked to their owner and said they would. I ended up deciding not to because I probably won't stay in the house long enough.
