Speaking of great roast beef, used to love going over to Rax’s Roast Beef off of Nolan Road. It was probably actually shitty roast beef, but in my kid mind it was awesome! Loved the little alligator mascot. Would always get the Rax Roast Beef Deluxe.
And I saw Taco Via mentioned in the OP. Absolutely LOVED Taco Via growing up. We used to make my mom drive me and a buddy over to Blue Springs on Friday nights to eat there when I was a kid. I remember popping lots of quarters playing Double Dragon over there with my buddy before dinner was served. Fun times.
There’s still one in Lee’s Summit and I try and go by every so often when I’m in town visiting friends and family.
