TB is a mess. When he was first drafted until this year I was on the fence about him. I said he just needs reps. He was being mentored by Nagy, who has a long track record of success mentoring QBs, and that sooner or later TB would get it squared up on the field.
Well, that hasn't happened. He's had a few flashes, but he sees the field less well than Alex Smith, and he's less accurate throwing intermediate throws. He seems to have a problem throwing to one side (can't remember if it's left or right), and I can't remember the last time a starting QB in the league had that kind of problem and was successful. long-term.
He really looks no better than he did last year. And I really thought with an entire off-season and preseason to get right, we'd see a significant improvement in his play. Butt that hasn't been the case.
The Bears need to seriously consider a way out of the TB situation and find another QB.
At this point, it might be better if the Bears signed CK. It certainly couldn't be any worse, and CK would be a one-year rental.
