It's going for the comedy in horrific surroundings of something like Fargo [the movie], lots of killing while the central characters jockey for power. But it's like there's a layer of gauze between the viewer and screen tempering the experience.
Probably the most telling thing is, you'll probably spend the whole time in 'Tom Cruise mode.' You know that thing where, no matter the film or setting, you're thinking 'hey, that's Tom Cruise!!' [Tropic Thunder excepted]. That's what you'll be thinking about all the characters. Hey! That's Steve Buscemi! Hey! That's George Bluth!

I was kind of shocked to see Michael Palin get a decent role. Last I heard he was doing travel documentaries. Has he even been in a movie since Brazil, much less played a prominent character in one?
