Saw the original around 8 years old (way too early for that movie) and I'm too seasoned of a veteran in life to be scared by make believe clowns these days but a few thoughts after viewing.
- The original was more psychological horror as this one was more "boo" moments and CGI. But, don't get me wrong there were some good ones like when the dude was getting bitten in the face by twisted face lady and a couple others
- A bit more teen oriented themed than I cared to experience such as bad, you don't understand parents and bullies
- The bullies, holy shit! Could they have made them any more over the top? They should have been on Rikers Island not living in Derry.
- Mike (the black dude) can take a hit. Gets whacked with a piece rebar in the back of the neck and doesn't take him out then Pennywise hits him so hard he does both an x and y asix 360 in mid air, lands 15 feet away and again shakes it off like his girlfriend just smacked him.
Tough to stand up to the original after it was ingrained in your mind so early and literally kept you up nights for awhile.
