I haven't watched WWF/WWE since I was a kid but he was always the spice in the soup.
I remember a Joe Rogan podcast a while back talking about the mortality rates of athletes and even though the WWE isn't a "sport" they have the shortest average life spans.
Less than Hockey, football, baseball, basketball, MMA, and this includes "trainers" and "managers" oddly enough...

He was 73 and had battles with throat cancer since 2002. He doesn't really fit the typical WWF narrative.
