With her condition, she shouldn't have been dumping excess protein into her body that her body could not process. If your amonia levels rise too much, you see this in people with ETOH abuse, you can cause irreversible brain damage or coma as it moves across the blood-brain barrier. You and I would simply piss the extra protein out. She could not process it that quickly, however.
Could be very likely she never had any idea before she died though based on the article. She could have done the same simply eating tons of chicken with her condition, so blaming it on the supplements is a pretty terrible scapegoat.
