From what I've read they were only about 5 million apart on a 4 year 54 million dollar extension which seems really dumb to me because that's not that much extra for a player of his caliber.

"Definitely," he said. "Definitely. No question.""
They essentially chose Ibaka over Harden for the mid term because Harden was a similar type of player as Durant and Westbrook offensively and defensively.
