After their success with the running attack last week, the Chiefs are going full Martyball this week. They sign a blocking tight end in FA, and line him and Wesley Walls up at WR. Early returns are promising.
EXQUISITE DOWNFIELD BLOCKING. Marcus Allen glides through the snow and the Chiefs have an early lead. The Bills get a field goal, but then disaster strikes:
Tracy Rogers flattens Jim Kelly on the blitz, breaking his ribs. Kelly will be out for the next month just like Montana. Meanwhile, Sam Adams is winning the rookie battle with guard Tre Johnson.
Mike Tomczak is Buffalo's backup, and he's going to lose this game for Buffalo, just watch. The Chiefs take the ball and continue to pound away.
14-3 Chiefs at halftime. When I said Martyball, I wasn't kidding. These are the halftime stats:
I have essentially eliminated Steve Bono from my gameplan. I will let him throw a screen pass though:
STEVE you ASS. Not to worry, though, for Mike Tomczak will surely blow this.
HAHAHAHA. Steve Bono vs Mike Tomczak. What a shitshow this is. The Bills, however, do respond with a touchdown on their next drive. It's 14-11 with a quarter left. I need a drive.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION STEVEN. That's a third and 14 conversion with two receivers in the pattern. Papa didn't raise no fool.
Kimble Anders, inside the 10. A touchdown here and I can breathe easy. I should totally just run the ball right?
TOUCHDOWN JOE VALERIO! I bet you didn't see that coming. The Bills make it 21-14 with a field goal, and are down to their last possession.
BALLGAME.
Steve Bono's leash is effective, as he goes 7 of 10 for 49 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.
Marcus Allen has an incredible game with 162 yards and 2 TD, and Kimble Anders chips in 49 yards.
Sam Adams has a dominant game against Tre Johnson with 2.5 sacks.
The Chiefs claim the #1 seed in the AFC with the tiebreaker.
