The coaching staff was unimpressed with Hill, who had a 39-yard run and did squat else, and Smith, who fumbled twice. So they signed a free agent before preseason game #4.

The coaching staff really liked what the receivers did in preseason, and Ed McCaffrey was a huge surprise.

Sam Adams was an absolute monster and Rob Fredrickson looked really good. Very high on these two young men.
Louie Aguiar had a tremendous preseason, with a 49.7/43.6 gross/net average.
