Am I the only one that thinks Xavier is dead but has somehow transferred his essence into Logan telepathically, or something along those lines? And on top of that, Logan went berserk and killed the X-Men at some point, and this is how the Professor chose to punish him?
If they want to try to attempt to tie into the actual Old Man Logan storyline, that would be one way to do it.
