I'm just not somebody who's going to believe everything I hear, no matter how passionate the storyteller may be. It's just a story until there's some verifiable evidence to back it up.

Not sure what documents, redacted or not, have to do with it. I'm more of a 'multiple witnesses taking video from multiple viewpoints' kind of guy.

An example of what I look for is the Phoenix Lights. Too many independent witnesses and too much footage to dismiss. Something was there. Something big. And definitely not flares.

On the flip side, one guy spinning a tale is entertaining, no doubt, but it's about as far from concrete as you can get.

And I tend to believe there is a great deal of disinformation going on at all times. I think the UFO mythos has been used to cover up our own stuff since shortly after ww2. In the 50s it was the development of the Blackbird, in the 70s the stealth fighters and bombers, in the 80s and 90s the drone technology we see now. All of that had a UFO profile (in appearance) and I believe the DoD used that as cover and still does to this day.

At the same time, I believe some sightings are also genuinely something more exotic. What that may be I don't know.
