This is absolutely true. I am pretty experienced setting up electric guitars and basses, I own a lot of them and do everything but fretwork myself. But sanding a bridge saddle sucks....

There is at least one exception though. Lakland basses, even the Indonesian ones, are pleked at the Lakland factory and come setup very well. You may have to tweak the truss rod a little from the temp and humidity changes since it left the factory, but that is really all you need to do.
