Lars has to be the most one-dimensional drummer of all time. Nice solo by Kirk-it would nice to see him spread his wings more and show what a great guitar player he really is.
They could have hired Colonel Les Claypool to be basis but they were afraid he would show them up. That would have been ground breaking evolution with alternative rock & heavy metal mesh up. I think it would have been cool. Metallica auditioned Les Claypool but they said he was too good for the band.
