The only reason I ask is that I'm very similar in my approach to games and am strongly considering getting this.

By the way, the completionist approach rules because it usually means I get incredible bang for the buck in terms of hours of enternaiment per dollar spent.
Yeah, that's me. I've probably played 12 hours now and I still haven't left my starting system yet. I've just arrived at the fourth planet of six. One didn't have any life on it at all (so yes, that can happen after all) so I didn't spend much time there. Otherwise I've basically just analyzed, mined and looked for schematics.

Let's put it this way: the planets are unbelievably huge. I have no idea what percentage of surface area I've covered but I'd guess it's tiny. I only stay long enough to identify a certain number of species to net a large credit reward. Which hasn't been easy so far (trying to analyze flying creatures is particularly difficult). I'm kind of glad each planet has a uniform biome because I don't feel obligated to stay after I've finished scanning. There seems to be some point of interest within five minutes walk from anywhere on any planet's surface, at least in my first system, so I could probably meander around forever on one planet.

Inventory wise it hasn't been too bad. One benefit of my playstyle is that I've come across numerous exosuit upgrades (have 20 slots IIRC), gotten two free multitools (current one has 8 slots) and found three crashed ships, although none yet better than the preorder. Well, one had 17 slots but it looked like a pink and white dildo. So no...

Saw a 28 slot ship on one of the landing pads but I didn't have three and a half million credits. But I'm sure I'll find another derelict that I like eventually.

My last planet was amazing. Beautiful scenery, abundant resources. The one I'm currently on looks like Texas. No bueno.

No awe inspiring moments really, outside of scenery oohs and ahhs (lots of those so far) but I didn't really expect there to be in my first system.

So far zero regrets on the preorder.
