So, after Udoka signed, I warned people not to expect too much. He is young and his development streak might be closer to Diallo than Embiid.

From the reports coming out, I'm very happy to announce I may be completely wrong about this! Word is he is very quick on picking things up and more likely to be a major presence this year than the slower track with a grand unveiling as a sophomore. He's a legit 7 footer now, and possibly still growing (he's only 16), and as you can judge by the videos, he's not a thin rail 7', he's a very big man who's basketball mind is lending to picking up post man skills very quickly.

I'm not saying he will be starting day 1 ahead of Lucas. But the word is he will be a reason we're very good next year, not just a practice player and cheer leader, but as a contributor. And we got him for two years!
