Massachusetts is like the anti-Australia. We have a couple venomous snake types, but they are very rare, and not very aggressive. No real venomous spiders to speak of. We have some bears, but they are generally smaller black bears, and also not very aggressive. They are also far, far fewer in Massachusetts than, say, Maine or New Hampshire.
And despite Jaws being set, basically, in Martha's Vineyard, the last time someone died by shark attack in Massachusetts was like 1956 or something ridiculous. In fact, around here, humans SAVE great whites. Like, "oh, wow, a predator -- that's really rare, and it's in trouble!! Quick Martha, save it!"
