We have Cox communications and as I said was able to get 100 mbps when connected with Ethernet cord but only rune 40-45 through wifi.

Once again, check the router's WiFi channel to make sure it isn't on the same channel as a neighbor.

Use 5g and check your wireless adapter, as it may not be current.
