The problem is that the game was just a tick too easy so it's replayability was pretty limited; mostly just something I'd do to kill an hour or pop in and play the sandlot version with someone shitty like Steve or Jon to see if I could still win on max (and yes, I could).

Great idea that I wish they'd have tried again and made it a little more varied and thus more difficult.

The answer is Twisted Metal: Black

Twisted Metal 2 was pretty awesome because of the stages and the 'world tour' aspect of it but Black was just next level in terms of graphics and game play. The analogue combinations that could pop out freeze shots, jumps, shields; all kinds of cool shit that really elevated the game, IMO.
