That's always been his main contribution for me.

No Indy and the Nazi's realize that the arc fried their first set of researchers. They send out a new set of researchers and pick it up. Eventually they figure out how to weaponize it.

Indy got the arc into American hands so it could be safely tucked away from ol' Adolf.
