I don't run RPE anymore. I tried it, but it's just not for me. I found it too hard to maintain intensity. I need those weight goals. My problem has always been that I *can* do more than I *think* I can. So, when I'm supposed to go 9.5, I'm probably more at like an 8-8.5. It's not until I get that weight on the bar and I'm under it that I really get that "Oh ****, I've really got to move this weight now" kind of feeling. Some people love it, though, and can do really well with it.
As far as diet, it's pretty much just as low fat as possible during the week, with two nights out on the weekends to eat whatever. During the week, I'll fast most of the day. Grill up some chicken breasts or low fat fish like Cod, Halibut, or Mahi Mahi. And I'll eat fruit in unlimited quantities. Maybe a protein shake before I go to bed, or if I wake up unbearably hungry, I'll have a shake in the morning right after waking. And lots of black coffee. I don't track calories or macros or anything anymore. I just know that if I keep the fat low, I can eat lean protein and fruit in unlimited quantities and keep my abs visible and make gainzz at the same time.
