So I peruse the STLtoday forums from time to time, mainly for Blues discussion, and I'll occasionally pop into the Mizzou forum...clicked on the Gill-Caesar transfer thread and boy did I find some gems...

Who cares? This kid definitely didn't show much for us last year. Ok, he was hurt, but look at the options we have at this spot(Wright, Payne, Walton, Van Leer). We need more big guys. I think that when they signed Walton late, they had an inkling that Teki was hitting the road! People here may never understand how big of a rebuild Anderson had to go through after Haith bolted for Tulsa. He needs a couple years to get players and his system in place before being judged.

I was in favor of the Anderson hire...the main reason at the time was because you weren't going to get a "Howland" or a big name guy in here with the program hitting rock bottom..not for the money MU was willing to pay..

How much is Auburn paying Pearl and how much will Miss St pay Howland? The answer as far as I know is twice as much as Anderson is getting..

This continues to be so funny with you and Uncle Buck. How was Frank Haith's recruiting class at Tulsa? A DISASTER!!!!!!! Danny Manning left the roster in great shape and CFH ran it into the ground. NO ONE of value in recruiting and will be in trouble by the middle of next season.

Kim Anderson, on the other hand, will continue to shine. You're no Mizzou fan, you're a Frank Haith fan. Good for you. Enjoy that stellar recruiting class at Tulsa and look for him to be a high ranked assistant in 2 years.

Mizzou is in great shape. Had a very solid recruiting class and it's only going to get better.

If Anderson is on borrowed time and only into his 2nd year of cleaning up a disaster that Haith left him, that is a poor mistake on the administration and AD. No coach, whether it be one with a good track record or an up and comer, would ever touch or sniff this place if an opening occurred after Anderson was at the helm for only 2 years.

I get the fact that everyone wants instant results, 5 star players and Final Four banners....but, realistically, our program has never been about having 5 star players or Final Fours. We have won historically, but the state of the program has been in a decline since the departure of Mike Anderson due to the imbalance of scholarships distributed throughout the years and coupled with Haith's quick fix on the JUCO/transfer players.

To get the program back to winning and just flat out competing, you have to take a step backwards (like last year) in order to get where you want to go in the future.
