When Wachovia was found guilty of laundering cartel drug money in 2010, it cost them $170 million in fines and forfeitures. It was--at the time--a record fine which was trumpeted as justice served on all the national network news outlets. But they laundered $378 BILLION. Even if they were only getting 1 point on the money, Wachovia netted over $3.5 Billion. Pretty meaningless "record fine".

Of course, if rumor is reality, they were getting 10 pts for laundering that cartel cash, which means they netted over 37-and-a-half BILLION DOLLARS. After all, like the scene from Scarface, the banks are only game in town, where else could they possibly take all that cash?

This El Chapo cat is a walking ATM machine for the biggest banks in the world. That has as much or more to do with him "escaping" than anything else.
