They had a good defense and an utterly ineffective offense prior to Wilson's arrival. They went from a team that was consistently in the lower third of the league in scoring offense (even with Marshawn Lynch) to a top 10 scoring offense with Wilson at the helm.

And the Chiefs went from a bottom 5 offense in 2012 to the number 6 scoring offense in 2013 when Alex Smith got here. They fell in 2014 to 16th but I guarantee they'll be back to being top 8 this year.
Does that mean Alex Smith is elite?
