After watching various documentaries and even reading some writing on ICP and the Juggalos, I kind of have affection for them.
Yes. They're some of the "lowest of the low" in our society, but that's kind of the whole point. They're self admittedly society's "trash" who often come from broken homes and have traumatic family histories. But, with the juggalos, they have a new "family" that turns the things they've been cast out of mainstream society for into a source of pride.
I mean, I wouldn't want my son to be a juggalo or anything, but I have a grudging respect for them. Yes, they're kind of disgusting and pitiable, but there's also a kind of dignity in the way they wallow in their indignity.
