Yes, velocity does tend to stabilize about a month in. And the only reason he's only thrown 5.1 innings is because he can't actually get anyone out. It's far more than a little disingenuous to cite '5.1 innings' without acknowledging that it's been fifteen appearances, don't you think?

The guys is done. You're welcome to keep trotting him out there to get about 3 outs/week if you'd like and then pretend that doesn't have anything to do with our short bench and tattered bullpen, but you'd be being extremely naive and ultimately just dogmatic for the sake of being so. There's no way you can credibly assert that Choate and Maness are of remotely similar value.
