There's a falsehood about music that exists in society that says that the longer someone plays an instrument, the more proficient they become. I find that to be incredibly false. Most people hit a point and never, ever ascend technically or musically.
Just because a 7 year old can
kind of play along with a few songs doesn't automatically mean that he'll be twice as good at age 14 or three times as good at age 21 or four times as good at age 28. The mere fact that he didn't strive for better performances uploaded to YouTube lead me to believe that he doesn't hear what he should be hearing and instead, is "showing off".
