Yeah, you're right. I told this in the Media Section but in 2012, I was in our playroom, feeding my then 3 month old with the volume way down on the TV. The John Carter from Mars promo came in Starz! and my ears perked up because I had been wanting to see the movie.
I could barely hear the music but immediately I recoiled in horror because it was very familiar and sounded like one of my cues. I literally started freaking out while holding the baby, thinking I'd stolen someone's musical idea and motif. So, I hit the record button on the DVR for further inspection.
I had a chance to listen once my wife came home and fortunately, it was an an alternate version of my compositions. I didn't immediately recognize it, especially at such a low volume, because they used the version with no percussion, so strings, winds and brass only.
Crisis averted.
