No sports team is perfect, especially not the Chiefs. But for the first time since 1989, this team has a real chance to make something happen. Dorsey and Reid inherited a MUCH larger pile of shit than Peterson and Schottenheimer and they've done a pretty good job of turning it around.

I'd sure as **** take them over Ryan Grigson, who's proven to be a gigantic pile of whale lard, or those ****tards in San Francisco, who have destroyed their franchise, or the dummies in San Diego, Cleveland, NY Jet, Oakland, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Chicago, Tennessee, Washington, Atlanta or Tampa Bay.

Out of all of the recent changes made in the past four years, I think the Chiefs have the best chance of rising about and making a real charge towards the Super Bowl. Not every decision has worked out but they're well above .500, IMO, with a critical draft just weeks away.

It's way too soon to say they've blown it, yet that doesn't stop people from saying it.
I'm not saying they've blown it, or that they've done a horrible job. I'm just not ready to crown their asses yet.

Getting a team with Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, Dontari Poe, Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles, Branden Albert, and Rodney Hudson was, by no means, an unenviable position. I won't even count DJ and Berry due to their injury concerns.

The 2012 Chiefs finishing 2-14 was an aberration thanks to some unfortunate in-game luck and a gestapo culture that the excision of Pioli would have improved for anyone else walking through the door that wasn't from the same bankrupt NE cabal.

FA is the season of perpetual hope. Every team outside of San Fran is probably crowing about the improvements they've made (or will make) right now.

And let's be honest, if you are chastising people for perpetual negativity you should also be prepared to evaluate your own tendency for overrating this team significantly, as you did in 2012.

In the NFL, the difference between 10-6 and 6-10 is just variance. I haven't seen anything to make me think they are significantly better than that.
