Nope, they're just trenching now, but the sales guy came knocking, but will be back I'm sure. So I'm stunned that they're knocking and Google Fiber signups for my neighborhood are "3/2015", so it looks like they're in a bit of a race.
That being said, I'm not sure what the sign-up to delivery date time is (if enough people sign up), but AT&T's GigaPower is still toned better than what I'm getting today from TWC, is $30 cheaper per month for the Internet/TV/Phone bundle, so if I'm not sure when Google Fiber will "be in my house" I might be inclined to try the AT&T offering if they don't demand some many-year commitment.
Plus, I'm not sure the common folks in our neighborhood know what to ask when Mr. AT&T rolls up to their door. Knowing that pretty-much everybody at AT&T is a slimy whore slut, I'm sure they'll tell them they are Google fiber, get them to sign-up (thinking it's Google Fiber), and Google pass us up because too few people signed-up. Yeah, tinfoil hat = on!!!
So yeah, I want Google Fiber even if they don't offer real phones (!!!!!!!!!!!), but some things have to happen, but for now it looks like GigaPower (and their 8Mbps up shit) is the for-sure thing.
