They used to be shit. Wife's dad wanted her to drive one in college because the pickup he sent her there with had like 220,000 miles and was absolutely hilarious in snow.
Anyway, the focus he wanted her to drive was terribad. But that was A LOT of years ago. I don't even remember the year that one was and they have underwent several changes since. Unfortunately I know nothing about focuses but maybe they're better now?
And maybe they are solid cars, but the one she drove was EPIC cheap feeling. She ended up with a cheap terrible Malibu that was hilariously underpowered but she was good with it because it wasn't that focus.
