It's a combination of skilled personnel management (acquiring talent that fits the team mold within the constraints of the salary cap), skilled coaching and talented players that wins. It's very difficult to win without all three. Of those three I'd consider coaching the least important, because while it's rare it's actually possible to win with good players despite bad coaching (see: Denver Broncos 2013-14) but almost impossible to coach a bad collection of players to a winning level in the nfl. Management is probably the most important. But they are all intrinsically linked.
