Bird hunting season is pretty much over here in Mo. Today was next to the last day so I made another run with my dogs. I took them up to hunt the corp ground around Stockton Lake. He was a whipped pup but he was alive. He walked the two miles up the hill back to the truck although there was a point where I thought I might have to carry him. He got to ride home in the warm cab of the truck and now he gets to spend some time in the house. I really thought I might lose him there for a couple of minutes so much so I was disrobing preparing to get into the icy water. I wasn't very deep so I probably wouldn't have drowned but I'd probably had an issue with hypothermia. Another great day in the Ozarks!

Those few seconds of watching them figure out how to survive the ice is a terrible feeling.
