No QB would have been effective behind that porous offensive line tonight. Alex Smith is a good QB and a master of the short passing game when he has adequte pass protection. I'm not talking elite pass protection like Romo - just average. His pass protection was WELL below average tonight. If that has been typical this season, then no wonder your offense is so hamstrung.

According to Football Outsiders, the Chiefs offensive line was ranked #22 in the league going into tonight's game. That's poor. Not as poor as the 49ers 30th ranked pass protection, but poor.

You can't blame Alex if he has little to no time to throw. I did not see a sack I would blame him for. Every sack was on the Offensive line being offensive.
