Alien Isolation - Review PS4

I was going to totally give this game a shit review at first... I really was.
But I decided to give it another chance. I'm glad I did, actually.

Excerpt from Wiki to get you started:

Quote:
Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, is approached by Weyland-Yutani synthetic Christopher Samuels, who informs her that the flight recorder of the Nostromo was recently located by a ship named the Anesidora and is being held aboard Sevastopol Station, a remote free port space station owned by the Seegson Corporation, in orbit around the gas giant KG348. Samuels offers Amanda a place on the Weyland-Yutani team sent to retrieve it, so that she can have closure regarding the fate of her missing mother.[12][13] Ripley, Samuels, and Weyland-Yutani executive Nina Taylor, travel to Sevastopol on board the courier ship Torrens, owned by Captain Verlaine. The group arrive at Sevastopol to find the station damaged and its communications unreliable. Ripley, Samuels, and Taylor attempt to spacewalk over to the station to investigate, but their EVA line is severed by debris, and Ripley is separated from them and forced to enter the station on her own.

After entering the ship, you can see that the shit hit's the fan. People are trying to survive an infestation of xenomorph aliens. You have to contend with them, the crazy people on board and the androids that have gone batshit nuts as well.

This game is hard. VERY Hard... You have to play by it's rules as well. There is absolutely no "run and gun" bullshit here. You break cover and you're done.
The aliens will be on you like white on rice.

The gameplay is all first person and the graphics are truly beautiful. The main character, (Amanda) is a smoking hot babe and she's is just like her mother.
The crafting system is a little difficult to understand at first but you'll get it after a few levels.
I don't like how you have to back-track a lot in the game but it's a necessary evil I suppose.
The Creative Assembly is the company that developed this game and they did a good job capturing the feel of the original Alien movie...
The technology on board that you deal with is exactly what they showed in said movie... Things like 'Tandy' style computers, tape recorders, cigarette machines, etc. It's all very retro.
The start-up screen is actually the old school 20th Century Fox intro and it looks like you need to adjust the tracking on your VCR.

All in all they did a good job with this game. If you love stealth, this is the game for you. There's a lot of sneaking around, puzzles to solve and things like that. You won't be disappointed at all. I really thought it wasn't going to be my type of game but I'm glad I pushed through and really learned how to play it.
If you plan on picking this one up, wait a little bit for a sale and check out some of the game play on YouTube and see what you think.

This one will keep you busy and it does have some very boring parts to it but all in all, I give it a solid 7.75 in my book. A good time-waster that is best played in short bursts.
