And yeah, that's exactly what I looked at, and like I mentioned, his receivers are definitely lagging behind, except for Boldin.

So yeah, Kaepernick is probably holding back that offense, so the questions are:
1) Is he smart enough to improve?

2) How significant of an improvement would Smith be?
More efficient, probably... full potential of those weapons, probably not
. It would be interesting to see, for sure, since so much of the pro debate around Smith isn't about him, but his coaches, WRs, offensive line, etc.
Boldin, Stevie Johnson, Michael Crabtree, Brandon Lloyd, all excel after the Catch. I think Alex Smith would do wonderful with that kind of receiving Corps. He has never had anything close to that.

Would he be a 4000 30 td guy?

No, he wouldn't, but they would be extremely balanced, and probably lead the league in rushing.

And as Clay pointed out, even if it was back handed, Alex Smith just has a way of finding top 5 defenses. Now, I know you don't take this that seriously, but let me ask you a question, at what point does that stop becoming a coincidence, and start becoming a TREND.

Alex Smith said something during his first year with Harbaugh that has always stuck with me.

make sure that every possession ends in a kick. A punt, fg, or extra point. Giving the opposing team the short field with a turnover is a killer. he embodies that, yes to a fault, but the reality is, that with that philosophy, the Chiefs rarely are out of games. Other than the Titans game, has there been ONE single game where the Chiefs were just beaten and didn't have a chance?

Which for all of my supposed "PRAISE" of alex smith, is the only true compliment I have ever given alex smith. I never said he will win games, I said he will give the Chiefs a CHANCE to win games because he wont turn the ball over.

Shrugs.
