What they should do is hire an up and comer, like a successful coordinator or coach from a minor conference. The Kansas job could be seen by an up and comer as a springboard to a bigtime job if he does well, or at worst he would end up a pensioner like Weis or Gill or Maningo, or... (how many head coaches will the be paying next year anyway, four?)
An elderly coach isn't the answer for a school in that position, IMO.
